Install Android apps remotely on a smart phone that is not in your possession. Recently a relative of mine, who lives in another country, bought Samsung Galaxy S5, but he had no idea about how to use a smart phone and install new Android apps. I helped him get his smart phone connected to the Wi-Fi and then installed few essential apps and games remotely. This tip is also useful if your smart phone is at home, you are in the office, exploring new Android apps from Google Play and you want to install few apps in your smart phone remotely right away.
In case of Android, you do not need to go to Google Play Store from your smart phone every time, to just install new apps. Your phone needs to be connected to the Wi-Fi. Even if it is not connected, you can request to install apps. Your request will be stored and when phone will be connected to the Wi-Fi, that pending request will be processed and new apps will be installed on phone automatically.
Unlike iOS, Android does not need Google ID to activate the Android device. Android is activated by default. But to install new apps you need to go to the Play Store by using your smart phone and that requires a verified Google email address (Google account). Without Google account you can not install apps in Android device by using Play Store. To install apps from Google play store, you need Google account.
So if you are installing apps on a phone remotely, that phone should have at least one app installed from Google Play Store previously. When you install first app from Google Play Store by using your phone, Google Play Store recognizes your mobile device. This is necessary. So you need your phone connected to the internet (Wi-Fi) and it should have been previously recognized by Play Store by installing an app on it previously.
The next part is really simple. By using any web browser on a computer, go to Google Play Store and login by using the same Google account that is used in your smart phone. Browse Android apps in the web browser on your computer and one by one hit install button. Those apps will be installed in your device remotely. Google account will sync the request with your smart phone. Android is smart enough to understand that you sent request to install apps from your computer by using same Google account that is in your smart phone.
That’s it. Install your first app on smart phone by going to Play Store on your smart phone. After that use same Google account to login to Play Store on your PC by using regular web browser and install apps remotely on your smart phone from anywhere.
